From the stages of Carnegie Hall to the historic König Albert Theater, Sheena Gutierrez has captivated audiences across the United States and Europe. Known for her ‘striking musicianship,’ Sheena has performed in some of the world’s most iconic venues, including the Kennedy Center, KKL Luzern Concert Hall, and Salle Pleyel. As a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, she brought her artistry to renowned festivals such as the Young Euro Classic, Rheingau Music Festival, Bolzano Festival Bozen, Stresa Festival, Ravello Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, and the Lucerne Academy Festival.
Sheena earned her Bachelor of Music degree under the guidance of Rictor Noren at The Boston Conservatory and pursued advanced studies with Charles Castleman at the University of Miami, where she earned both her Master of Music degree and a Doctor of Musical Arts in 2021. Her dissertation, ‘Gender Bias Among the Big Five Orchestras – As Illustrated in Hiring Practices of Women Instrumentalists,’ was approved by a distinguished committee including Charles Castleman, Jennifer Grim, Valerie Coleman, and Gerard Schwarz.
Beyond her many accomplishments, what sets Sheena apart is her unwavering passion and dedication to her craft. Whether as an educator, violinist, or arts administrator, she continues to inspire and empower others. Sheena resides in Miami with her husband, beloved 110-pound yellow lab, and 10-pound maltipoo, making a lasting impact on the world of classical music.
