VIOLIN

Violinist Michelle Skinner has gained recognition across the United States for her sensitive musicianship in styles ranging from the baroque to contemporary. Ms. Skinner is a violinist with the Miami-based contemporary chamber orchestra, Nu Deco Ensemble. She served as Principal Second Violin of the Amarillo Symphony for nine seasons and has performed with orchestras such as Atlanta Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, and Naples Philharmonic. She has served as concertmaster under the baton of notable conductors Leon Fleisher and Marin Alsop and appeared as soloist most recently with the Amarillo Symphony, the Southern Illinois Music Festival, and the New Chicago Chamber Orchestra. Beyond her expertise as a classical violinist, Ms. Skinner has been featured with today’s most popular artists, most notably serving as concertmaster on Bad Bunny’s Most Wanted Tour across North America. 

Ms. Skinner is a passionate advocate of arts education. In addition to maintaining her full private violin studio, she is the Director of Nu Deco NXT, the innovative Miami-based youth ensemble. 

Ms. Skinner holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music and Graduate Performance Diploma in Violin Performance from the Peabody Institute.
