Isaac Casal, a versatile and classically trained cellist, is distinguished by his dedicated pursuit of performance variety, seamlessly navigating musical genres from classical to world, Latin, and folk. With a global presence, he has graced stages with solo recitals, chamber, and orchestral performances across Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Celebrated for his entrepreneurial spirit, Isaac has premiered works by notable composers, melding classical quartet aesthetics with Latin American styles through his Ensemblast Project.
At 25, Isaac founded FUNSINCOPA in Panama, a foundation focused on providing educational music programs for underprivileged youth. Notably, he established an El Sistema-inspired orchestra for high-risk children.
Additionally, Isaac is the visionary founder of the Alfredo Saint-Malo Music Festival, officially recognized as a national festival by the Panamanian government. His achievements include winning an Emmy in 2021 for “River of the Last Valley” and receiving awards for cultural contributions and outstanding citizenship.
Balancing an active performance schedule, Isaac serves as the Artistic Director of FUNSINCOPA and the Alfredo De Saint Malo Music Festival, leaving a lasting impact on Panama’s cultural ecosystem. With degrees from Florida International University, Baylor University, Southern Methodist University, and a Doctorate in Musical Arts from Louisiana State University, Isaac, currently residing in Miami with his family, continues to be a dynamic force in the classical and fusion music realm, embodying a harmonious blend of performance excellence and philanthropy.
