Henry Bond is a Horn Fellow at the New World Symphony. He previously held the Second Horn position in the Syracuse-based orchestra Symphoria, having also performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Rochester Philharmonic, Chautauqua Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Pacific Symphony and the California Young Artists Symphony. He has spent summers in upstate New York with the Chautauqua Music Festival Orchestra and in Charleston with the Spoleto Festival U.S.A. Orchestra.
Having a passion for teaching as well as performing, Mr. Bond served as a Teaching Artist with the Music in Schools Initiative at Yale University. He cares deeply for his online teaching studio, which includes students from around the country. He also posts videos on YouTube, which range from original works of music to horn arrangements of pop songs. Outside of music, he enjoys manatee watching, mindfulness meditation, and chess.
Mr. Bond studied at Colburn School with Andrew Bain, received a master’s degree from Yale School of Music studying with William Purvis, and received a bachelor’s degree in Horn Performance with a performer’s certificate at the Eastman School of Music studying with Peter Kurau.
