Emilio Rutllant

FLUTE

Emilio Rutllant, a Chilean-born flutist based in the United States, is the principal flutist for the Symphony of the Americas and the Northern Lights Music Festival. His diverse musical journey includes notable positions with the Minnesota Orchestra, Pittsburgh Opera, Miami City Ballet, and Symphonia Boca Raton. He is an adjunct flute and music professor at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Emilio’s solo performances have left their mark across the United States, Spain, Italy, Austria, and Chile, earning him recognition at prominent flute conventions and festivals. A dedicated pedagogue, he conducts master classes globally, from the Swiss Club of Santiago, Chile, to the Northern Lights Music Festival in Minnesota. Emilio’s adventurous musical career encompasses collaborations with renowned artists such as Andrea Bocelli and James Galway and esteemed conductors like Osmo Vanska and Karina Canellakis. Emilio holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts (DMA) and a Master’s in flute performance (MM) from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, studying under Trudy Kane. Additionally, he is actively involved as the music director and vice president of the Music Angels Education Fund, supporting students in need through private lessons, instruments, and mentorship.
