Violist Ethan Durell enjoys a multifaceted career of orchestral and chamber performance, commercial recording, private teaching, and touring. Ethan has been a member of the Palm Beach Symphony and the Florida Grand Opera and served as a substitute player for the Sarasota Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, and the Naples Philharmonic. He also toured with the artist Bad Bunny for his North American “Most Wanted” tour, performing in 50 sold out concerts across 31 cities in the spring of 2024.
Ethan holds a Master of Music degree from the Frost School of Music, where he was the recipient of the Henry Mancini Institute Fellowship, and a Bachelor of Music degree with distinction from the Eastman School of Music, where he was awarded the Robert L. Oppelt Viola Prize, the John Celantano Award in Chamber Music, and the Eastman Performer’s Certificate. His previous teachers and mentors include Jodi Levitz, George Taylor, Melissa Matson, Basil Vendryes, Charles Castleman, Masumi Per Rostad, and the Ying Quartet.
