PERCUSSION

Geneva Harrison is a freelance percussionist/drummer, and multi-disciplined recording and performing artist. She has toured and composed extensively over the years with WNYC’s radio program Snap Judgment, Magik*Magik Orchestra, Pop-Up Magazine, experimental soul collaboration Bells Atlas and varying other indie artists.

With nearly 20 years of professional experience – having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, Miami and New York City – Geneva has worked with numerous talents including composers Terence Blanchard and Van Dyke Parks, television/theater choreographer Sonya Tayeh, Broadway directors Anne Kaufman and Rachel Chavkin, and performing artists Alfredo Rodriguez, Shana Cleveland (La Luz), Andrew Bird and Y La Bamba, among many more. She spent many years as an in-house musician for Tiny Telephone Studios, and has played in esteemed historic theaters and recording houses across the nation – among them Carnegie Hall, BAM, Fantasy Studios and United Recording (LA).

While her expertise ranges a number of styles and contexts that also include Music Production, Contemporary Classical ensemble playing and Avant-Garde/Experimental improv, Geneva’s greatest love in music is sharing meaningful experiences with those around her, onstage and off. She holds a BM in Percussion Performance from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
