Alexis Porcaro

OBOE

Alexis Porcaro is an oboist who currently resides in Miami Beach and is originally from New York. Alexis has had the privilege of performing with esteemed groups such as the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, and the Miami City Ballet. During her Bachelor’s degree at Purchase College, she studied under the tutelage of acclaimed oboists James Austin Smith and Kemp Jernigan. Throughout this time she played with the New York Youth Symphony where she performed at Carnegie hall a number of times. She continued her studies with James Austin Smith while pursuing her Master’s degree at Stony Brook University on Long Island, NY. In the summer of 2021, Alexis had the opportunity to study in Europe at the International Summer Academy in Vienna where she participated in masterclasses led by renowned musicians Jean Louis Capezzelli and Christian Wetzel. Alexis is currently pursuing her doctorate at the Frost School of music at the University of Miami. She is the Oboe Teaching Assistant for Professor Robert Weiner as well as a Henry Mancini Fellow.
