Nu Deco Ensemble Announces 2025-26 Season

The season kicks off this fall with three weekends at The Citadel in Little Haiti, each built around a bold musical and immersive concept. The season opens with a psychedelic celebration anchored by the album release of Nu Deco’s Grateful Dead Suite. This kaleidoscopic reimagining of the Dead’s iconic sound sets the tone for a bold new chapter, joined by symphonic masterpieces, art-rock reimaginings, and contemporary innovation — all brought to life with Nu Deco’s signature genre-defying flair. On Halloween weekend, Nu Deco transforms the space into a haunted symphonic playground with world-renowned multi-instrumentalist Munir Hossn. Rounding out the Citadel series is the second installment of Underground Symphony, featuring Colombian–Mexican DJ and producer Sinego, whose mix of electronic dance and Latin folk traditions will fuse with Nu Deco’s orchestral power for an unforgettable night.

In December, Nu Deco returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the seventh year of its acclaimed residency with Grammy-winning artist PJ Morton, joined by vocalists Darrel Walls and Susan Carol and celebrated trumpeter Keyon Harrold. The evening also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life with a new orchestral suite, and welcomes acclaimed pianist-composer Courtney Bryan for a performance of her work House of Pianos.

The new year launches at the Miami Beach Bandshell with a powerful hip-hop celebration as rap icon Lupe Fiasco joins Nu Deco for a one-of-a-kind collaboration. The concert will also feature the world premiere of the Mac Miller Suite and a chamber version of Playground by visionary composer and YoungArts alumnus Pascal Le Boeuf.

In March, Nu Deco presents a genre-crossing night at the Bandshell, highlighted by the radiant voice of Portuguese-Cape Verdean star Mayra Andrade, whose music interweaves heritage and contemporary sound. The program will also feature the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by Michael League, bassist, composer, and founder of Snarky Puppy.

The season concludes with a grand finale at the Adrienne Arsht Center, featuring a special guest artist to be announced, alongside Nu Deco’s new Bee Gees reimagination and Holst’s cosmic masterpiece The Planets.
