Nu Deco Ensemble Announces 2022-23 Season

September 12, 2022 – Miami’s 21st-century chamber orchestra Nu Deco Ensemble, led by Jacomo Bairos and Sam Hyken, announces their expanded eighth season to include a debut at the iconic Colony Theater, returns to the Miami Beach Bandshell, and a deepening of their artistic partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center.  This season Nu Deco Ensemble presents new and dynamic original compositions, 21st-century orchestral classics, eclectic living composers, and re-imaginations of iconic albums by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, the Beatles and Lauryn Hill. 

“In what perhaps is our most ambitious season yet, we are excited to present a dynamic program which includes the music of some of today’s most exciting composers and artists, performances and new explorations of some of the great music of the 20th century, and an expansion our musical voice through new original compositions by the ensemble”, says Sam Hyken, Nu Deco CEO, Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director.

Nu Deco Ensemble’s innovative, genre-bending sound will be highlighted through unique collaborations and a wide range of musical styles. They are honored to welcome back past GRAMMY winning collaborators Wyclef Jean, Angelique Kidjo, and Monsieur Perine , while collaborating with new guests X Ambassadors, Lawrence, as well as premiering a newly commissioned work by bassist and composer Derrick Hodge.

We could not be more grateful for the amazing support Miami, and now the world provides to continue these unique musical experiences, special collaborations and dynamic partnerships we strive to create.”

These virtuosic and award-winning artists combined with Nu Deco Ensemble musicians will celebrate an eclectic variety of sounds, styles  and cultures. Season 8 is set to kick off October 7th at the Colony Theatre and concludes April 28th, 2023 at the Adrienne Arsht Center.
